On September 19, 2023, Belarusian State Technological University received a Cuban delegation represented by the following members:

Reynaldo Velazquez Zaldivar, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba;

Santiago Perez Benitez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Belarus;

Mario Leonides Moreno Aguilera, Trade and Economic Advisor of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Belarus;

Barbara Elene Karell Fure, Technical and Teaching Advisor, Department of External Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba.

The delegation was invited to visit the BSTU Museum of History and Education, the Exhibition Hall of Research Developments, classroom of hunting science, computer classrooms, BSTU Xylotheque.

Reynaldo Velazquez Zaldivar, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba gave his highest appreciation of the educational and research capacity of the University. During his talks with Ihar Voitau, BSTU Rector, the Deputy Minister outlined the most promising cooperation areas and projects which BSTU could implement in partnership with Cuban universities. In particular, the guests expressed great interest in such fields as forestry, forest growing, afforestation, forest fires prevention and recovery, rubber technology (automobile tyres), complex mineral fertilizers technology.?????

The Belarusian-Cuban dialogue then moved to Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio Electronics which hosted the I Belarusian-Cuban Rectors’ Meeting. The meeting agenda focused on educational and research cooperation and covered a wide scope of items, i.e., joint training of professionals, retraining and professional development, joint science & tech parks, research and innovation projects for industries and economies of both countries.??

The wrap-up event of the meeting was a ceremony of signing bilateral agreements of cooperation. BSTU Rector Ihar Voitau signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Havana University of Technology and the University of Cienfuegos.
